Биографическая справка
Родился будущий актер с большой фильмографией в огромном американском мегаполисе – Нью-Йорк, в интернациональной семье еврея и француженки. Родители очень долго спорили, какую веру прививать ребенку и, в конце концов, пришли к решению, что будущий режиссер будет посещать евангелистское учебное заведение. Обладатель огромной фильмографии и наград на данный момент считает себя буддистом.
Изначально фамилия Оливера была – Силверстайн. Однако отец работал в брокерской конторе и решил изменить ее на американский лад, таким образом, и получилось – Стоун. После окончания колледжа в Пенсильвании, возвращается в свой родной город. Семья отдала парня учиться в Йельский Университет, где он изучал фотографию. В 1962 г. родители подают на развод, и мать улетает в Париж.
Так, воспитание Оливера падает на плечи отца. Вскоре, Оливер бросает учебу в Йелле, и отправляется преподавать английский язык во Вьетнам. Через год он едет в Орегону, потом перебирается в Мексику. В 1967 г. Стоуна забирают воевать во Вьетнам, где за период войны он получает два ранения и был участвует в известной битвы под «Берт».
